Video Analysis — Nautilus Narrow Lat Pull Down

[Further Update:  Another rendition for Windows compatibility (Windows Media 100 KB )]

[Update:  After a very helpful hint from Scott Bird about how to play with the compression rate, I have a file vastly reduced in size for not much loss in quality (Quicktime, 96 KB).]

Here's video of Nancy Arnold doing the Nautilus Nitro Narrow grip lat pulldown (Quicktime, 5.3 MB).  As I think you'll gather from the picture, she's strong.  Lots of muscle in those arms.

Clearly, we're experimenting here.  We've taken some inspiration from John Yeo's and Scott Bird's sites without nearly their level of polish.  Probably what we need here is a combination of photo set up showing the device, then the video, then textual description of what is going on.  We could do with some advice on video formats and editing software that will work on the mac.  Nancy, perhaps you could leave a comment as to whether you can even access the file from your Windows PC.

This is a spare time project for the both of us, and I've exceeded by far the spare time I have today, but as The Big Girl said in her post, this was a lot of fun.  I thought it was worth getting something up.

Great to see some video. I can't really help much with video stuff on the mac (I mainly use PCs), but the quicktime software is a lot more powerful than it first appears. The file compression is what you need to play around with - the video itself was clear and worked fine. Keep in mind that the file should be much, much smaller for that sort of viewing time.

very cool, nancys waist looks tiny in the vid...
